The warmer weather has encouraged rapid growth in sugar beet crops and in many cases has allowed later emerging plants to catch up. It’s been a good start for this season’s pulse crops. Winter beans are well established and spring drilling went into excellent seed bed conditions but there is still a very long way to go. With last year’s wet weather in mind and reports of disease pressure in winter beans beginning to circulate, it’s a good time to take a look at your nutrition programme and make sure you are doing everything in your control to mitigate risk.
